Can you believe that since I moved to London a year ago I haven’t done one proper afternoon tea? Therefore, I’m sure you can visualize the smile on my face when I’ve been invited by Browns to try their new “Tea Tox” concocted by Chef Madeleine Shaw. My reaction was: A “detox” tea-time, hell yes I’m in. As you know, I’m a foodie and always try to balance my food diet. It’s all about balance isn’t it ? Morgane & I went last week and tried (and shared) the traditional Afternoon Tea, which by the way has been named one of the best in town (and now I know why) with Madeleine’s Shaw Tea Tox, which is basically a healthier version (including some gluten-free pastries and vegan goodies). Everything was absolutely delicious and I strongly recommend you do exactly what we did if you are planning on coming to London soon, or just looking for a new Sunday activity (eating scones with cream and jam should should be considered as a hobby). Following our food coma, a little lounge time (and much deserved siesta) in room 222 for the beginning of my staycation. I was pleasantly surprised as I always thought that the rooms of the Browns hotel would look dark and too classic, and they were absolutely not, on the contrary, my room was bright, super quiet (even though it was facing the main street, but it has solid double glazed windows), very nicely furnished with a little contemporary touch. Honestly, if I were to visit London and wanted to stay in Mayfair this is probably where I would want to stay, and needless to say that I was just a stone’s throw away from all the shops. It felt nice to be pampered and feel like a tourist in my own city for 48hours!
