Sara Jaber made our lives a lot simpler when she launched her new online venture titled: The Perfect Gift. Obviously the name speaks for itself. And it really does. I’m sure we’ve all been victims of the “I don’t know what to get for my (fill in the blank)” syndrome at least once in our lives. Well, our nightmares have just ended. Just like that. The Perfect Gift or as I’d like to call it a “Godsend” meticulously selects the best pieces for him/her or yourself (treat yourself too, you deserve it!).
And to all my Swiss fellows, the best part is that it’s a Swiss-based e-shop, so no need to worry about VAT taxes that you get in the mail a month after when you completely forgot about your expenses – do you know what I mean or am I the only one here?
Anyway, without further ado, I’d like to share with you this special post dedicated to the one & only woman in your life and that is your mother. As you may or may not know, Mother’s day in Switzerland is coming up soon (Sunday May 8th) so I thought I’d share my favorite items from The Perfect Gift featuring some beautiful accessories, home decoration or books.
Ela Rae arrowhead necklace has a mystical and bohemian vibe that I’m extremely fond of as we all know by now. It’s one of those gorgeous pieces that I would love to receive. Same goes for the Khirma Eliazov leather/python bag, but it’s a little more costly. Spektre is always my go-to brand for sunglasses, I love their designs : classic with a little twist, not to mention the low-priced points. The Autumn Cashmere cape is a more “deluxe” piece and a little bit more pricy but it’s a gorgeous timeless cashmere, that makes you want lounge in at home for days. And the fringing details is everything. The KOKU beach pouch is a fun one to carry around in vacation in your beach bag or to take out and worn on its own for lunch or dinner. Super cute and playful.
Another favorite of mine is my beloved Tom Dixon, that I wasn’t able to find in Geneva at all until now. It’s always a safe choice and I’m obsessed with the copper finishing on the “orientalist” candle (which smells divine too) and the stackable bowls. It’s also the perfect “Thank You” gift when you’ve been invited to someone house for dinner but didn’t have time to pick up something after work. You can have it delivered the next day with a little note.
Now last but not least, when I get books, I have two criteria: pretty and useful. Luckily, both Helmut Newton’s book and Dalia’s cookbook fell into each category. I’m not much of a cook myself to be entirely honest, but after looking at Food Love Life, I’m hoping to be. I guess it’s a good place to start or a good one to offer your mom so that she can cook for you when you visit or try out recipes together for some special bonding time. Now Helmut‘s book on the other hand, is a collector and I love photography, along with beautiful coffee table books. I’d put it in my top 3 from my list as I personally own it in Geneva. I love how it comes with a little plexi-glass stand too, which is absolutely brilliant for a total of 140.-chf. I love the idea of gifting books and it’s something that I’ve been doing more lately maybe because I I wish I’d receive more of them in return. Oh and the good news is: you don’t have to carry it, just have it delivered to your recipient’s door. Smart.
La vie Boheme Yoga mat just made my morning salutations a lot more colorful. I really love it and been following their Instagram account for a while now and always wondered how the quality was and I was pleasantly surprised. It has a good grip and good weight too on the floor. I wasn’t able to take it with me to London last week, but I’ll definitely take it with me next time. I definitely need a little bit of sunshine for rainy London days.
